Field Geologist – Wellsite (Offshore)

About the role

The Field Geologist will supervise geological operations on an offshore rig in Paramaribo, Suriname. Working in a 4‑week on/4‑week off rotation, the role involves real‑time data quality control, interpretation, and post‑well analysis to support safe and efficient drilling.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise geological activities on the rig and coordinate contracted services (mud logging, M‑LWD, E‑Logging, coring).
• Perform real‑time QA/QC of well data, interpret drilling hazards, and provide immediate feedback to drilling crews.
• Ensure security and integrity of all geological acquisition data.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports, composite logs, and well summaries.
• Participate in pre‑job and daily on‑site meetings to align geoscience information with drilling operations.
• Oversee contractor performance, equipment reliability, and consumable usage.

Required profile

• Ability to work offshore rotations with 12‑hour daily shifts.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to drilling supervisor orders.
• Experience supervising geological services and interpreting real‑time drilling data.
• Effective communication with mud‑logging, wireline, and drilling teams.
