Safety and Environment Delegate for Offshore SURF Projects

About the role

The company seeks a senior Safety and Environment Delegate to act as the on‑board representative for HSE compliance during offshore SURF installation activities in Suriname Block 58. The role is rotational (5 weeks on/5 weeks off) and requires fluent English.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and promote HSE standards, ensuring all offshore procedures are followed and any changes are managed through the Management of Change process.
• Supervise installation activities on J‑Lay, S‑Lay, PLSV and MSV vessels, coordinating with site representatives and offshore stakeholders.
• Serve as the focal point for emergencies, following bridging documents and emergency response plans.
• Provide daily progress reports, highlight deviations, and coordinate safe execution of COMOPS/SIMOPS activities.
• Review and validate daily reports, maintain traceability tables, and coordinate HIRA Level 2 before operations.

Required profile

• Engineer or Offshore Supervisor with at least 15 years of oil‑and‑gas experience, especially in SURF projects.
• Proven experience on major EPCI projects and offshore construction/installation campaigns.
• Strong knowledge of SIMOPS, HSE rules, Surinamese offshore regulations and company CR/GS requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary offshore teams.

Required skills

• BOSIET / T‑BOSIET / FOETMEMIR certifications.
• GSES – Safety Environment Management onsite.
• CTA – Cause Tree Analysis.
• Valid offshore medical certificate and Seaman’s book.
• Experience with riser pull‑in/pull‑out, flexible lay and rigid pipelay activities.
